Dream cars: We have had them all!

The biggest challenger to the European supersports, hypersports, and off-road cars? Is an aptly named American icon: the Dodge Challenger. At least if you type in the hashtag #DreamCar on Instagram. That's what a rental car comparison portal found out. We don't want to brag - but we've had them all. Starting with B for Bugatti Chiron to P for Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The name IS the game: At least in the fans' favor. Because as a #DreamCar, the Dodge Challenger can challenge sports car icons like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the Nissan GT-R and the Lamborghini Aventador. There's also an off-roader in the top ten, which the muscle car leads. In turn, we've grabbed five of our favorites from the Instagram rankings - and, fittingly, picked out our best pictures.

Bugatti Chiron

The first W16 Bugatti named Veyron was a real milestone in automotive history. And its successor, the Chiron? It simply broke the records of its predecessor once again. Even faster, even more beautiful - and the somewhat different car for our Car Wash. Ramp editor in chief Michael Köckritz met Bugatti designer Achim Anscheidt for this - because if anyone knows the lines of the hypercar that goes by the name of the »Old Fox« Louis Chiron, it's him.

Nissan GT-R

The mother (or rather father) of all Japanese car dreams. Probably no other car from the Land of the Rising Sun enjoys such a legendary reputation as »Godzilla«. And if, as in the case of ramp #31, it's also the last European Nismo variant of the (still) current R35 … the case is clear.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Who doesn't like the 911? At least has a »special« taste in cars. And anyone who doesn't like the 911 GT3 RS probably no longer has a measurable pulse. Because the high-revving six-cylinder boxer engine leaves no one cold. And it's great when the GT3 RS also comes with the Weissach package. Like one of the title heroes of our RE:CAP coffee table book. Best of all, the new-generation 992 is already being tested on the Nordschleife.

Lamborghini Aventador

Only an open Lamborghini is better than a Lamborghini. And when it is photographed by editor & photographer Mathias Mederer in Los Angeles, heavenly pleasure is guaranteed. And no, unfortunately he couldn't drive it out in the City of Angels. But that's really secondary in these shots.

Mercedes G-Klasse

Keeping a vehicle in a manner appropriate to its species is one of those things with off-road vehicles: Years of being kept in city centers have led to a real SUV softening. And because too many Mercedes G-Classes are still being abused for urban posturing, we sent the classic into the desert for the ramp#22. How did the icon like it? Let's put it this way: It certainly felt more comfortable than the colleagues from the Austrian Space Program, who tested their spacesuit in the wasteland.
