Electric Cross-country Fun Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo
Would you like some more? Always a pleasure. And even more so if it means even more Porsche than usual. This is the case with the new Taycan Cross Turismo, which the Zuffenhausen-based sports car manufacturer has just unveiled. The off-road capable sports station wagon offers 4 model variants: unlike the Taycan, which was introduced in stages, all four offshoots (4, 4S, Turbo, Turbo S) are available in the Cross Turismo right away. And all of them use all-wheel drive, transferring up to 625 horsepower onto the (loose) ground. Also standard on all models: the particularly large performance battery with 93.4 kWh charging capacity, as well as the larger cargo space: more than 1,200 liters of luggage can be stored in the rear of the Cross Turismo - or, as usual, up to four passengers. These benefit from three and a half centimeters more headroom in the rear thanks to the extended flyline and higher roof.
The same applies to ground clearance: Thanks to adaptive air suspension and the optional Offroad package, the Cross Turismo also has three centimeters of additional space-reserves here. Together with a special "Gravel Mode" and specially developed body components, this means that nothing should stand in the way of off-road excursions. These include flaps at the front and rear that deflect debris and protect the vehicle from stone chips. With so much added value, how can you do one better? Porsche shows us just that with the bicycle rack developed especially for the CUV: mounted at the rear, there is room for up to two bicycles - while the trunk can still be accessed as usual. But that's not all: Porsche is also launching two high-quality e-bikes to go with the CUV, the E-Bike Cross and E-Bike Sport. More Porsche e-performance doesn't seem to be possible.
Zuffenhausen has saved on one thing alone - and that's the waiting time: the new Porsche is supposed to roll onto the market as early as summer. But in the end, that's one more reason in favor of the Cross Turismo.
