Finally: Toyota Sports EV

What lasts a long time finally becomes short, agile and dynamic. Of course, one could also simply say: good. And that describes Toyota's electric MR2 heir quite well.

Fans had to wait a long time for an heir to the Toyota MR2, which was retired in 2007 after twenty-three years and three generations. Four years from now, it could be making its comeback. Toyota recently unveiled the successor under the Gazoo Racing (GR) sub-brand. The mighty front fenders are reminiscent of the Maserati Birdcage, a massive front splitter and huge aeros on the sides make Toyota’s little newcomer an attractive mid-engine sports car, but you’re used to that from the MR2s. The potent roadster – the Targa roof is removable – is due to be powered by solid-state batteries stacked behind the passenger cell.
