Fit like Lenny

Want to look as ripped as Lenny Kravitz? No problem with his training program featuring four simple but effective exercises. And apart from dumbbells and a pull-up bar, all you will need is a strong will.

Lenny Kravitz is a gifted musician, talented photographer - and above all, just fit. Sounds like the real life of a rock star. At least when it comes to fitness, we can follow Lenny's lead - at least if we stick to his workout routine. The 57-year-old relies on four simple but effective exercises. We present them to you.

Standing Biceps Curls

Stand up straight, grab a pair of dumbbells, and you’re ready to go. Bring the dumbbells to shoulder height, slowly lower back down to the start, then lift again. Do five sets, with 50 reps in the first, 35 in the second, 21 in the third, 14 in the fourth and 10 in the last set.




Dumbbell Bench Press

Here’s another dumbbell exercise, this time in combination with a bench. Holding a dumbbell in each hand, lie on your back and extend your arms straight up towards the ceiling, then lower the dumbbells until they are level with your head. Go through five sets with repetitions as above.




Squats

Lace your hands behind your head and stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Slowly squat down, stopping when your thighs are about parallel to the floor, then raise back up. This exercise has even more repetitions: first 77, then 50, 35, 21 and finally 14.




Pull-Ups & Knee Raises

Pull yourself up until your chest is level with the bar, then bring your knees to your chest. Now lower and raise your legs slowly in a controlled manner without moving the rest of your body. The goal is to perform four sets of knee raises with 21 repetitions each.
