Here comes the sun: our must-haves for the summer

Yesterday's Sunday? It was a great foretaste of summer. And at the same time a climatological wake-up call for all those who still don't have a suitable bathing suit. But don't worry: We'll just use the impending rainy week to relax and prepare for the next high.

Beach Ball Set Frescobol

There are only two types of beachgoers: those who just lie around in the sun, and those who play beach tennis near the surf. The latter is who Frescobol Carioca had in mind when it came up with the perfect beach bat set. Each bat is individually handcrafted, polished, and covered with a strong resin coating to make it salt- and sand-resistant. Now the beach tennis bunch can pass each other the ball in style – and more easily ignore the fact that they are an unbelievable nuisance to those who just want to lie around in the sun.

Vilebrequin Swim Short

The French word vilebrequin not only means “crankshaft” in English, it is also the name of a French boutique fashion brand created in 1971 by Yvette and Fred Prysquel. Fred was a photographer and automobile journalist whose interests extended beyond cars and included casual swim shorts – as you can see from this model by the name of Rayures Seersucker.

TBD Sunglasses

Pablo Picasso once defined artistic talent as follows: “There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who, with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun.” To which we’d like to add: There are manufacturers who turn green glass into lenses for sunglasses, but there are others who have transparent frames made in Italy onto which you can attach bottle-green lenses if desired.

Tudor Pelagos

Even Aristotle from ancient Greece knew that "adventures are desirable." In Switzerland, on the other hand, people know that a day at the seaside can be an adventure - especially for a watch. It's a good thing that the traditional company Tudor has a suitable timepiece on offer in the form of the "Pelagos". In concrete terms, this means water resistance to a depth of 500 meters, a water-pressure-variable folding clasp and a helium valve that protects the watch even during saturation dives. Not that the Greek name of the elegant watch, which means something like "open sea," would have promised anything else.

CAP Summer Vibes

The warmth and lightness of the moment. Sun and light, an endless blue sky, and a good book - these are the perfect summer days. How about a bookazine like an episodic film? Always in a good mood, relaxed, sometimes high-spirited, sometimes wild. And of course inspired by Porsche. The intense scent of summer packed between two book covers on more than 400 pages.

rampstyle #22 - I for myself

What defines us? Ultimately, it is always our personality. This wonderfully dazzling and unique self with which we encounter ourselves and the world. So far, so good - from the perspective of others. But let's rather stay with ourselves and devote this issue of the magazine to the questions: "Who do I want to be?" and "What is worth living for?"

A Bigger Splash

David Hockney painted it, directors like François Ozon dedicated entire films to it - and many of photographer Tony Kelly's motifs were also created at the swimming pool. But it's not only in pop culture that the artificial place to cool off is in demand - it's also on days like today. A small case study.
