I am ... Amy Shore
Hello Amy, what is typical for you?
Typical Amy would be with a cup of tea in hand, always hungry, always needing to have music, always late, always busy, always in need of more sleep and always looking forward to the next exciting job and adventure!
When was the last time you did something for the first time and what was it?
I try to do something for the first time as often as I can because I think life is boring otherwise. Doing something for the first time is exciting and scary and I like the feeling of going outside of my comfort zone. The most recent thing was when I finished the week long motorcycle rally, the Great Malle Rally, and for the first time I went to the most northern part of Scotland – John O’Groats. I decided to visit it as I was less than 5 miles away and I wanted to say that I had been there! At the end of that I had just finished for the first time my longest, continuous motorcycle rally from the most southern point of Cornwall to the most northern point of Scotland. In previous years of doing this rally I had done parts of it in a car and the last time I never got to the end, so this was the first time I had ever finished this rally!
If your life were a song, what would the title be?
I think it would be “sorry for the delay”, I’m constantly apologising for being late replying to emails or other things! The only thing I’m not late for are things like flights, I’m eye wateringly early for flights, but otherwise “sorry for the delay, I’m having too much fun!”. I’m usually late for things because I’m doing something fun.
What still needs to be invented?
I want to have little trackers that I can stick on things so I can’t lose them! I’d have an app on my phone that tells me where they are. Things like my passport, laptop, keys – it would make my life much simpler!

What should no one know about you?
That I constantly think that I’m in the wrong in life, that I’m doing a bad job, that I don’t know how I’ve got here in life and that I’ve only got good opportunities because of my social media following (which I don’t know how I’ve got!). I suppose you could say it’s severe imposter syndrome! But it’s good because it means that I don’t take anything for granted and I’m constantly so grateful for the opportunities that I do receive. But I need validation a lot of the time, which I think is a common thing, but I try to take things less personally.

What should everyone have done once in their life?
Everyone should travel to Scotland, it’s one of the most magical places I have ever been to. Also, everyone should do something that really scares them because it’s the only way you will ever feel truly alive. I’m about to start this E-Type restoration business and I am so scared but I think it will be a defining moment for me.
What event in your life has shaped you the most so far?
I would say visiting my very first Goodwood Revival because that opened up the classic car world for me, that started the spark for me of owning a classic car and having a life with classic vehicles. It started off what would then become my career!
Which superhero power would you like to have and why?
I would like to be able to freeze time, I hope that’s a superpower thing! The ability to freeze time or slow it down.
What is currently the wallpaper on your mobile phone?
The wallpaper on my mobile phone is of my boyfriend Will leaning against an E-Type that he built, but the problem is the E-Type takes up most of my screen and I kind of overlook the fact that Will is still there!
What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I’ve read is a quote from Ricky Gervais, which is something along the lines of “nobody else knows what they’re doing either”, which definitely helps me because it gives me courage and strength to do things that are a bit scary! The idea of just having courage is something I try to remind myself every day.
