A Declaration of Love: James Bay - »Leap«

A man and his guitar - and a declaration of love to his wife. That's how James Bay's new album "Leap" can be summed up in just one sentence. And how it may sound in a few sentences more, you can read and listen here.

We can’t help but smile when we think about the moment, shortly before our exclusive photo shoot with Bryan Adams as photographer, that we asked James Bay about his wild life as a rock star and he responded with a puzzled look on his face. That’s because the English singer-songwriter’s girlfriend Lucy, who he has been with since he was sixteen, gave birth to their daughter Ada in October and the little girl has really been robbing them of their sleep. The thirty-one-year-old musician recently announced his latest album, titled Leap, for July. Inspired by and dedicated to Lucy and Ada, the album features collaborations with songwriters and producers such as Finneas O’Connell, the brother and producer of Billie Eilish. We’re already looking forward to the album (and to our next interview).

“When I hold the guitar, it’s all so much fun and so exciting that I don’t have time to be frightened. I suppose it’s like a roller coaster. It looks frightening, but once you’re on it, once you’ve done it, you just want to do it again.”
