Sonnyboy: Harry Styles
Is there anything Harry Styles can't do? He acts in Hollywood blockbusters, the Brit even made it onto the cover of "Vogue" as the first solo man. In a dress, mind you. His new album, Harry’s House, was just released this May. And in case you’ve ever wondered what the twenty-eight-year-old has always wanted to say to Billie Eilish – you’ll find the answer here.
Harry Styles about . . .
. . . his time after One Direction
For a long time, I didn’t really know who I was. And I didn’t want to be defined by what I do all the time. But I had to ask myself, “If this ends, am I going to be good at handling it?” But I think it gave me an opportunity to get comfortable with who I am and get to know that person a little bit more. Putting out the first single from this album was far and away the most relaxed I’ve ever felt putting anything out. I no longer feel like my overall happiness is dependent on whether a song goes here or goes there.
. . . Billie Eilish
I definitely had a really big moment when Billie Eilish first blew up. When I was in One Direction, we were just really young – and it was fun and exciting. But I had this moment where I saw her do this at such a young age where I felt like, “I’m not that young anymore.” That was the moment in which I thought, “Okay. I should really think about who I want to be as a musician.” I think we’ve run into each other a couple of times since then, and though I’m incredibly thankful to her, I’ve never actually told her.
. . . the new album
At first I thought, “It’d be really fun to make an album called Harry’s House.” And as I started making the album, I realized it wasn’t about the geographical location. It’s much more of an internal thing. It took on this whole new meaning and it was more about spending a day in my house. “What do I go through? What do I feel?”
