Perhaps we are all extras in a road movie whose filming was only briefly interrupted. In recent years, we've had a good time getting around the world, driving, flying, swimming, as if we were all extras. Now the movie seems to have stalled, but after a break it will go on. But how? Hopefully in an outdoor movie theater.

In the second episode of our new ramp podcast, writer, bestselling author and columnist Vladimir Kaminer tells just that story. The story of the drive-in movie theater.

It's about the beginnings of the drive-in theater in the U.S. and the incredible triumph it celebrated. Until it went out of fashion and was finally rediscovered. Like a pandemic-scale event that gives people the opportunity to go on a journey together and experience adventures together. By the way, mothers also play a pretty big role in this story. Wladimir Kaminer sheds light on all these aspects - with the experience of two Movienights at the BMW Bank Drivers Club.

The second episode was also recorded in cooperation with the BMW Bank Drivers Club at the legendary Omni Studios in Berlin. Furthermore, the second Movienight BMW Bank Drivers Club took place in the context of the podcast. You will find impressions of the event of our friends on our Instagram channel - as well as in the soon to be released rampstyle #23.

Really Fast

This is a story full of ups and downs, starting with our author almost not being allowed into Italy to drive the Ferrari SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano. Which would have made for a lot of frustration and certainly a lot of noise on what is now an international day of screams of frustration. All went well, of course.
