Somewhere in the mountains of Tuscany, high up where man and machine extract their world-famous Italian marble from the rock in hard, honest and sweaty work, a roar of thunder in the brilliant sunshine hisses through my bones bringing defeaning fun. Naturally aspirated 640 hp, ten-cylinder, vibrating hard at the 8,000 rpm mark, Huracán EVO is its name - this is Lamborghini!

The Huracán EVO lurks flat in the shadow of the headquarters of the Italian Sea Group, the shipyard that normally builds yachts the size of entire hotels for people who prefer not to have the last buffalo mozzarella snatched from under their noses by an uninvited guest at the buffet. And it's clear from the very first glance: this is Lamborghini, too. Y-signature, razor-sharp edges, a straight line from front to back with a resilience that leaves no doubt about how fast this thing is, even when it's stationary. »At the wheel of a Lamborghini, you always feel like a pilot,« says Mitja Borkert, head of design at Lamborghini, »we wanted to transfer that feeling to the water.« Pure sculpture was the goal.
To achieve this, Borkert's team first visited Tecnomar on the coast behind Florence, and shortly thereafter Tecnomar Art Director Gian Marco Campanina's team traveled to Sant'Agata Bolognese to Centro Stile, Lamborghini's design studio. »We got along really well right away,« Campanino says, »it was really easy to work with Mitja and his team.« And that's despite the fact that Borkert admits he's never designed a boat before. »It was the first time. We had a lot of fun and we learned a lot.« Whereby that was true for both sides. The attention to detail and dedication with which Borkert and his team design even the smallest switches in a Lamborghini was new to Campanino and his team, who are used to thinking in dimensions between 20 and 100 meters.

At least at top speed, the Lamborghini DNA comes into play again: 63 knots. In addition to the length of the yacht, the number also describes the year Lamborghini was founded.
